 Home to many stunning beaches and the truly world-class National Surf Academy, it will come as no surprise that demand for accommodation, hotels and guesthouses in Newquay is high, whatever the time of year. Of course, Newquay is at its busiest during the height of the summer, when accommodation is scarce and at its most expensive. As soon as the school holidays arrive at the end of July, the hotel rates rise sharply due to demand, remaining considerably higher than other months until the end of August.
If you can wait until the beginning of September, you will get much more for your money, with hotels in Newquay becoming much cheaper as autumn approaches. Staying here in September not only has the advantage of finding accommodation that is better value for money, but the weather is still extremely warm, with plenty of sunshine to go round.

Many of the most popular hotels and guesthouses in Newquay are within walking distance of the numerous beaches, such as Fistral, Great Western, Towan and those around Watergate Bay. A range of self-catering accommodation is also available close to Newquay's stunning coastline, including a number of small houses and apartments.
The cheapest accommodation in Newquay can be found inland and includes a large selection of family run B&Bs, while those that are lovers of the 'great outdoors' will find a number of camping sites and holiday parks just minutes away from the town centre. Popular campsites in the Newquay area include the Porth Beach Tourist Park, which is located on the north-eastern side of the town and boasts excellent facilities. Also worth considering if you are looking to stay here on a budget are the Newquay Surf Lodge and Newquay Reef Surf Lodge, both of which lie along Springfield Road and offer dormitory beds and rooms. For more traditional hotel accommodation, the Headland Hotels along Fistral Beach is hard to beat and offers reasonably priced rooms and two swimming pools.
 Visitors often choose to stay in the neighbouring village of Crantock, where accommodation is slightly cheaper and well-placed for exploring this part of Cornwall, being particularly close to Crantock Bay and its secluded sandy beach. Further hotels can be found around the coastlines and beaches of Holywell, Lusty, Porth and Tolcarne, together with a selection of accommodation overlooking Newquay Harbour.
When thinking about a holiday in Newquay, be sure to plan ahead and bear in mind the town's busiest times, when hotels and other accommodation options are at a premium. This is especially so at the end of May, when hoards of people arrive in their VW cars and camper vans for the Run to the Sun Festival. Also worth noting, the Ripcurl Boardmasters Lifestyle festival takes place in the middle of August and is always a major crowd puller.
