Opening Hours

Most shops in Newquay are now open from Monday through Saturday, between 09:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays, from around 10:30 to 16:30. However, during the summer season, when Newquay's tourist trade is at its peak, shopping hours are often increased and some of the town's most centrally located shops choose to stay open until 19:00 or later on some nights. Stores in Newquay also extend their shopping hours during December, to be sure to make the most of the busy Christmas trade.

Where to Shop

Many of the best shopping in Newquay can be found centred around Bank Street, East Street and the Cliff Road. Bank Street is home to a small selection of household names, such as Boots and WHSmith, with Argos and a number of other more individual stores lining the adjacent stretch of East Street.

Slightly to the east of this area and close to both the Crescent and South Quay Hill, Fore Street is another prominent shopping district and contains plenty of choice. Amongst the favourites here, the Newquay Surf Centre is especially popular, as is the leading fashion store of Fat Face. A number of local pubs, inns and surfing gear shops also reside in this part of the town, being extremely close to the beachfront and Newquay Bay. You will even find a number of top surfing shops right next to Fistral Beach itself, Newquay's crowning glory.
